Delaco Distribution – one of the biggest competitors on the cheese market from Romania – implemented a high performance software for the automation and optimization of the company’s 11 warehouses. A 25% increase in productivity, complete traceability and the fast training of new employees are just a few of the benefits gained by the distributor thanks to the warehouse management suite from Senior Software.
The distributor of the famous Delaco cheese products, one of the most important suppliers on the Romanian dairy products market, automated and optimized its 11 warehouses, gaining 100% traceability and a data processing error rate that is now close to zero. Thanks to the smart storage of products and the optimization of picking routes, the company now has 15% more space, 25% more employee productivity and it can ship products in 24 hours, anywhere in the country.
With a turnover of over 90 million euro, Delaco has considerably improved its operations after implementing the WMS suite for warehouse management, from Senior Software. Some of the results that were obtained:

Stability, intuitiveness, but also the user-friendly interface are a few of the WMS suite’s characteristics which the Delaco team appreciated, the benefits being noted shortly after the implementation.
After implementing the WMS system from Senior Software, the most important benefit which we noted was the solution’s stability. Daily or weekly interventions on the system aren’t needed, data accuracy is much greater and the number of errors is considerably lower. Also, the friendly interface of the WMS suite lead to the lowering of training times for new and existing employees.

By reorganizing storage areas and modes, as well as the intelligent placement of products by categories, the Delaco team saved time, space and increased data accuracy and warehouse productivity.
We talked with the Senior Software team about the optimization of the warehouse’s layout, and we gave up on some gravity shelves in exchange for some vertical shelves, thus managing to improve travel times for pickers.
Among the measured benefits, we now have 15% more storage space and 25% increased employee productivity. Also, data processing and conveying speeds have increased and the percentage of human-caused errors has been lowered to almost 0%. All warehouse processes are defined in the WMS and we have 100% traceability, from receiving until shipping to the end user. Picking accuracy has greatly improved, and mistakes made during the picking process have been lowered below 1%.

The Delaco team also chose to use Zebra equipment in the warehouse, supplied through the trada platform, the hardware completing the implementation of the WMS suite.
