IRUM improved its entire production planning and scheduling activity with the help of the APS system from Senior Software. The Romanian manufacturer of agricultural tractors and forestry machinery anticipates production flow bottlenecks in advance, successfully manages up to one million equipment configuration variants, and simultaneously plans a very large volume of data.
With a tradition of over 70 years in manufacturing forestry, agricultural, and other types of machinery and equipment, IRUM implemented the APS solution from Senior Software to optimize production planning. The company thus managed to improve manufacturing flows, reduce downtime, and gain increased visibility across the entire process, achieving better control over resources and fully meeting delivery deadlines.
With a turnover of approximately 28 million euros, IRUM simultaneously plans operations numbering in the tens of thousands, using the APS production planning and scheduling software, and manages multiple work centers without errors. The system enabled the company to benefit from precise and synchronized planning of production processes, ensuring a continuous flow regardless of the complexity of the work centers.
The machinery we manufacture is highly complex, with some products including over one thousand internally produced components, while others are sourced externally. Whether we are talking about the foundry, a CNC center, or the assembly line, APS ensures correct and flexible planning.

In addition, the order consolidation functionality facilitates the production of large batches, reducing frequent changeovers and repetitive raw material procurement, thus optimizing production and logistics flows.
One aspect I greatly appreciate about the APS from Senior Software is the visualization method, which is extremely intuitive and user friendly. We have access to a wide range of charts and reports that can be generated directly from the planning tool. Every day we monitor operations that are delayed compared to the established deadlines, and this helps us quickly identify potential issues.
A particularly useful APS functionality is order consolidation, which allows us to produce multiple orders in a single batch that would otherwise have been spread over longer periods. This contributes to reducing changeovers and optimizing raw material supply.
In its future plans, IRUM aims to diversify its product offering by introducing entirely new machinery and significantly increase production and sales volumes.
